Ya me ha pasado varias veces de ir a un mercado y encontrarme con varios puestos donde se ofrecen servicios para curar diferentes tipos de hechizos o maleficios. Esta vez fue en Lince, provincia de Lima. Un cuzqueño que vende hierbas en la Bio Feria del Parque Reeducto me habían comentado que en Lince había una feria con productos de la selva. El lunes, que no trabajo, decidimos ir a ver que tal.
Llegamos, pero no era lo que esperabamos. No eran productos de la selva, sino una mezcla de todas las regiones. Es stand mas común era el de curanderos ofreciendo productos y curaciones varias.
Los artículos mas comunes: figuras de santos, sahumerios específicos para diferentes tipos de “problemas”, billetes de papel de varias monedas diferentes, velas de todos los colores, y muchas pildoras y harinas de hierbas varias.

A few days ago I made a trip that will forever remain in my memory. I’ll retrace our itinerary and the means of transport used there and back.

Lima-Pucallpa: We took a bus to Transmar, Semicama, which cost S/80. There are cheaper options, but I recommend that those who can buy the at least the Semicama boleto, the journey is very long and tedious. And in addition the road rises to 4600m in the mountains and the entire trip is full of twists and turns. When the altitude hit me the driver offered me some coca leaves and my ears immediately popped. I was told that earplugs are a good idea although I did not find out this time. Early in the morning the driver told us that the area is full of UFOs! The road is unpaved before reaching Pucallpa and since the rainy season not yet over, the bus became stuck in the mud. After 3 hours of work they finally got us out of the mud and moving again.
